Depending on the choice of material, layering, glue, choice of colours, finishing, the mix of materials, and other variables, packaging can have either good, reasonable, limited or no recyclability. It’s not always easy to make the right choices.

In addition, many companies put packaging on the market in several countries and are looking for advice, rules or guidelines that apply to multiple markets.

Within the design-for-recycling programme in PackForward, Producer Responsibility Organisations of different countries are working together to help companies improve the sustainability of their packaging and to make the right choices for the different markets of those countries.
