The plastic promise
With the Plastløftet (The plastic promise) companies pledge that they will work on using more recycled plastic, reduce unnecessary plastic and improve design for recycling.
About The plastic promise
Companies pledge that they will work on using more recycled plastic, reduce unnecessary plastic and improve design for recycling. The companies share their experiences, problems, approaches and results with each other. The plastic promise will help Norwegian companies to reach the new EU targets for 2025/2030. Those who pledge and completed it by making improvements and reported results, represent more than 1/3 of the total plastic packaging on the Norwegian market.
The plastic promise project was set up by Grønt Punkt Norge.
- “By launching our laundry packaging made from recycled plastic, we at Orkla have saved the environment 90 tons of plastic per year. Partnering with Grønt Punkt Norge has been incredibly important to gain knowledge, insight and learning in a part of the value chain where we don't have much insight today”, says Bård Bringsrud Svensen, Sustainability Innovation Manager at Orkla.
The plastic promise will take an effort from your company, but Grønt Punkt Norge will help with the work. Companies using The plastic promise are required to participate in three Plastløfte meetings, but are also encouraged to participate in other projects and seminars under the auspices of Grønt Punkt Norge, the Packaging Association, Packaging Research and research institutes with activities in the field of packaging, optimization and circular economy.
